Alongside the interstate just south of Rincon, New Mexico there’s a big nest in a mesquite tree. I’ve watched it for years usually slowing down to 65 mph. Often it’s empty, but sometimes there was a Redtail hawk in it.
This year I saw more and finally stopped. It’s a Swainson’s Hawk and chick. I just grabbed a few quick shots – didn’t want to upset either bird. They were a nice reward for my time spent on the interstate. No back roads for these guys!
It’s so nice when you can revisit the same place over time to watch and observe how things (or occupants) change. It’s true with wildlife and landscape. You’ve captured a nice moment.
I have just posted, a few days ago some huge stork nests photos!
