Horned Toad
If it hadn’t moved, I wouldn’t have seen it. Good camouflage. And it’s fairly big – maybe 2 1/2” wide. I like the yellow ‘scallops’ that look like eyes. Sierra county, New Mexico, USA.

Horned Lizard
Or as we called them Horny Toads. This is the prettiest and biggest I have seen in years. Its body is about the size of the palm of your hand. Near Engle, New Mexico, USA.

Another Lizard
It’s been a good year for lizard photos. Year of the Lizard. A very knowledgeable friend suggested that the red spots were mites. Or a very fashionable accent.
Today’s Wildlife
