This sweet nest is safely in a juniper snag, also protected by a Christmas cactus. But it’s only about a foot off the ground! The tree is quite dead, but the nest is in good condition. Makes me think it was made this last season. I’ll check it occasionally this Spring to see if it has new residents.
Sierra county, New Mexico, USA.
It’s so cute how they find a place to call home. I’ve seen lots of nests on top of telephone poles in New Mexico too.
