Imagine standing directly under those sheer walls. When I was a kid, Mom and Dad packed up the car and hauled us all from Utah to eastern Nebraska every summer, well before I-80 went in. On one stretch on the way into Wyoming we drove a windy two lane under overhanging red cliffs like these. The road ran alongside a railroad line, traced by power lines on wooden poles with turquoise glass insulators. The twisty road, tiny guard rails, and painted center lines made strong impressions on my childish brain. But most impressive were the red cliffs. Thanks for the great photo.
