    Damage from old age or from the floods way back? It certainly makes a great picture. 🙂

    • There are stories that it was dismantled in an attempt to encourage county residents to choose Hot Springs (now Truth or Consequences) as the county seat rather than Hillsboro. I mean, if they don’t have a courthouse, how could they be the county seat? It was wild back then – and this was maybe the 1930s!
