I thought it would fly if I moved to get the camera and I thought the light wasn’t enough, but the hawk didn’t and the light was okay.

Wow! What an intense creature.
It looks like an immature sharp-shinned hawk, or perhaps Cooper’s hawk. Both are on the smallish side, no more than 18″ and sometimes considerably less, depending on the species. Great photo!
