Kingbirds v. Raven

I didn’t see the beginning of this conflict, so I have no idea what the raven did to piss off a couple of kingbirds.  They dive-bombed the raven, definitely got its attention.  When a third and fourth kingbird joined in, the raven fled.

  1. Nicely captured. I don’t think the raven needed to do anything. It was there, which was enough for the smaller birds to perceive it as a threat.

It does look like an angry bird. 🙂

Saturday, my daughter and I saw a small, dark bird (silhouetted against the sky and too far away to identify) harassing a huge red-tailed hawk soaring overhead. It didn’t take long for the hawk to retreat from the field of battle, his little adversary hot on his tail. Amazing to watch!
