Rock Wren

In Chloride Canyon we watched a small bird repeatedly go into a crevice between rocks with an insect in her beak.  My knowledgeable friends knew it was a rock wren.

Here she’s ducking into the nest.

Determined to keep the species going, eh?

  2. Did you hear her sing? I think it’s a rock wren who serenaded me years ago at Hole in the Rock in the Mojave. Wonderful, warbling song reflected off the rocks.
