A scene from the kitchen garden at Islandwood, Bainbridge Island, Washington.
It’s good to see so many honey bees. Here on the east coast they are becoming almost extinct. We’ve had abundant rain this year and with it lots of white clover blooming in the yard but almost no bees. Sad.
It is very sad and quite scary. Where will we be without bees?
I agree, Esther. I have lots of clover but I’m seeing more bumble bees this year and few honey bees. I mow V E R Y slowly so I don’t run over anyone of them.
Your photos are absolutely gorgeous!
Gorgeous photos! I love the color of the flower. And I love honey, so I sure don’t want to see honey bees diminish! There’s a couple of guys in my neighborhood who have been harvesting honey from the bees they are keeping; it is quite good!
