A hummingbird chose to build her nest in a wind chime shaped like Sandhill cranes. She incorporated three of the nylon strings into the nest so that those three ‘ringers’ were held firmly together. It is well engineered. The wind chime is a bit incapacitated, but it does revolve a little.

The photos with the hummingbird on the nest were taken from a distance – I didn’t want to upset her. When she left, I took the closer shot. There are two eggs in the nest.
It looks like the cranes have gotten together to hold up the nest !! How great is that !
That’s a pretty awesome find. Is it in TorC?
Yes, on a house by the Rio Grande.
Greetings from India! You have a lovely blog with some awesome pics. May I add something on humming birds? The humming bird is so full of joy that when it comes to you joy will take over. Remember the Hummingbird is a symbol of good health.
The Hummingbird is the only bird that can fly backwards. This is a reminder that the past can’t be changed but the past can teach lessons.
Thank you and regards!
What a beautiful addition! Thank you.
You’re very welcome! And glad you both enjoyed the post.
