I’ve been doing some of the photo challenges offered to bloggers. In fact, I got a bit carried away with them and neglected my writing. Once again in my life, I’m working towards balance! There are as many challenges out there as types of photos. Some based on colors, like Ruby Tuesday or Mellow Yellow Monday; some on subject matter, like people, shadows, reflections, and that list goes forever; and there are new ones all the time.
Last week I entered a shot in the first part of a two-part challenge: first the straight from the camera shot and later the edited shot. But I didn’t edit mine – I got involved in repairing my leaky kitchen faucet instead. It’s a sure sign of avoidance when I choose plumbing over photography. I just didn’t want to spend the time editing an ordinary photo.
Here’s another shot I took that same day at the VLA that I like much better and it didn’t require editing.
I’ll save that editing challenge for those shots that I take knowing that I want to edit them, not the ones that just weren’t very good to start with. Resolution: I will not enter a challenge with a sub-standard photo.
Thank you for your patience.
